BMW sometimes does strange things with the naming of their models. Sometimes the numbers are not related to engine size. Sometimes names change for no apparent reason. In this case, the original boxer g/s became the Paris Dakar, which became the Dakar, which then disappeared, which then came back in a single, which the disappeared again, which then returned as the Sertao.

This example is in near showroom condition with 2,120 miles and zero miles off-road. The owner bought it to go on an off-road trip with his son that never happened. It sat in the garage and then along came me. But wait, there’s more. It is festooned with goodies from Touratech including headlight guard, engine guards, heel guards, chain guard, etc. And it has TKC80s with the original Tourances included and an Arai helmet.
