It is the plans to make quick bursts of progress that most often go astray. An hour to get something knocked out in the garage. In this case a seemingly simple chore. Remove the center console so that the carpet install can proceed. 15 minutes tops. Or not. One of the screws just spun in its captive nut. Probably because it was a drywall screw unlike the other three correct ones. It took some gymnastics to get it free by reaching behind with pliers. Then the true horror of the stereo wiring was revealed as it tapped into the hazard light and used about a dozen crimp on connections and those little blue splicers. Lastly, the stereo itself was lodged in the frame and I could not find one of those removal tools that I swear I had. 57 minutes later, the console was free and intact.
