It only makes sense. A competent modern commuter machine (F800ST), and a 650 dirt machine (G650X) both traded for a single twin cylinder machine capable of handling both. Logical. That is until you factor in the maniacal machine that replaced them, a KTM 1190 Adventure R. If this machine had a human persona, it would clearly be the wild live-life-to-the-fullest bad boy party-on-wheels sometimes-in-trouble-with-the-law music-and-film-star icon. Believe the hype.
But it also gets 50 something mpg if ridden normally, does dirt and street well, carries a pillion in relative comfort, has heated grips, and can be equipped with capacious luggage. The leftover 2015 part of this deal really helped as it is the same as the 2016 model for $5k less. I can’t wait to get out for a longer trip.
